Ms. Vang

Thank you for visiting my on-line website.  My name is Xia Vang.  This is my 13th year as an ELL teacher for the Manitowoc Public School District.  I taught at Madison and Jackson Elementary Schools for the first few years and have been at Jefferson Elementary School for the last seven years.  I am excited to get the school year started.  I am looking forward to teaching and learning right along side my students.  I know that my students and I will continue to grow and create many wonderful and positive memories and experiences here at Jefferson School through our learning experiences together.  Let's go for the GOLD and make this school year the best year yet!

A Little Something More About Ms. Vang:

I was born in Laos and spent the first part of my childhood in a refugee camp in Thailand.  My family came to the United States in 1988.  I grew up, attended school and graduated from high school in Sheboygan.  I got my teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in Elementary/Middle School Education with a minor in English as a Second Language (ESL), which has since been changed to English Language Learners (ELL).

I am currently living in Manitowoc with my family.  I have three children and a chihuahua named Elsie.  My oldest son, Akira, is a senior in high school this year.  My daughter, Yuriana, is in 4K at Riverview and my youngest son, Shinji is three years old.

Some of  my hobbies include health and fitness, biking, traveling and photography.  I love spending time with my family going on adventures, traveling and exploring new and exciting places.  There is so much to see and so many places to explore in this beautiful world we live in.  I strongly believe that traveling is one of the greatest ways to create memories.  The memories we made can never be taken away from us and will remain with us forever.
