Classroom Management

It is in your child's best educational interest that we work together on both academic and behavioral expectations. In order to provide the children with the excellent educational climate they deserve, Jefferson staff will be implementing a school wide program titled PBIS(Positive Behaviors Intervention Support). You will be receiving information regarding PBIS at the beginning of the school year.

I also will be sending home my classroom expectations the first week of
school. My class
room management system is connected to PBIS through a Hollywood theme. Your child will have a clothespin in which he/she will start each and every day off earning 1 point.  Each student can earn up to 4 points daily depending on his/her choices. Besides earning tickets in the classroom, your child can earn Griffin Gold Tickets from other staff members depending on how your child acts in the hallways, lunchroom, outside, computer lab and library. Your child will be provided a small pouch to store all his/her earned tickets. It will be their responsibility to keep track of their earned tickets.

I will have a Classroom Matrix that has prizes listed that your child can earn depending on how many points he/she earns and when he/she decides to cash the points in. Also this year. starting in October, Jefferson will have a School Store where the students can cash their earned tickets in for various prizes! Please remember this is our second year with PBIS management and I will do my best to help each child understand and execute appropriate behaviors.

Goal: Each child to understand and execute appropriate behavior so great learning takes place and all students feel successful!
