There is no elevator to SUCCESS,
you have to take the stairs!
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!
This year we are really going to focus on something called the Growth Mindset. This is important to help us learn to be hard workers and realize that nothing is too difficult if we set our minds to it!
This is my 17th year teaching in the Manitowoc Public Schools District. I began teaching 1st grade at Madison for my first four years and since then I have taught third grade, with the exception of second grade for one year. This will be my 10th year teaching at Jefferson. I am really excited for a new challenge and I absolutely love being a part of the Jefferson family.
In 2010 I received my Master's degree in Reading Instruction at Concordia University. Reading is a passion of mine. I strive to not only help students to become better readers but I also want them to LOVE to read.
I am originally from Denver, Colorado. My husband and I moved to the Manitowoc area in 2000. It took a few years, but now Manitowoc is the place I call home. I have one son, Zach, who now lives in Milwaukee. I have a new puppy named Brexi. She is a 4 month old English Bulldog.
I love to spend time with my friends, Brexi, and my family. I like traveling and seeing new cultures and places.
